primary colors presents...
Caress Me Aunt Jemima
On August 27th for the launch of CARESS ME AUNT JEMIMA we will be featuring: Hume from Washington DC, Brides, No White God, Carl Didur and Blue Tape Red Tape (from LA). We will show the video of Elvis during his last performance singing "Unchained Melody" as well as a pancake and Paul Simon listening/eating hour.
CARESS ME AUNT JEMIMA is a monthly-esque event that is constantly changing, developing and rotating its format. On the ground level, CARESS ME AUNT JEMIMA features a combination of music, video art and performance.
Primary Colors
The sole intention of Primary Colors is to provide an outlet for music and art-based events in alternative locations (galleries, warehouses, factories, lofts, churches, etc). While bars have already been decorated and aestheticized, an alternative space allows us to particularize the event in a way that is suitable to the event or the performer. Through the use of alternative spaces, Primary Colors is able to cater personally to each and every artist and musician that we work with. We are not anti-club but we do provide the alternative to clubs.
We don't simply book or promote events in vain. Instead we build events based on each performer. What distinguishes us from other promotion teams in Toronto is that we strive to produce art-space events in a comfortable environment, devoid of over-bearing, heavy handed and overly restrictive club regulations.
What distinguishes Primary Colors from other DIY promotion teams in Toronto (who offer alternative, non-club events as well) is that Primary Colors prides itself on continually striving for excellence in organization and a dedication to professionalism while at the same time maintaining a Dadaist leniency, a healthy sense of Catholic guilt, sexual experimentalism and sense of humor.
